Flutterbies Cottage Café is located in the charming village of Tyalgum, set between the majestic backdrops of Mt Warning and the Boarder Ranges National Park. Over recent years, Tyalgum has become an increasingly popular destination for visitors to the Tweed. Its stunning landscape and old-fashioned village charm have placed it on the map as a ‘must see’ location. It is easily accessible to those staying on the coast and a lovely leisurely drive for visitors throughout the region.

History Tyalgum is an historic village with a wonderful collection of federation buildings. The Tyalgum General Store has continued to operate as the local store since 1908 and the gift shop, ‘Paddington of Tyalgum’, occupies another period building, which at one time housed a kitchen for the original logging community. Flutterbies Cottage Café was the ‘Old Bakery’ circa 1926 and evokes the nostalgia and mystery of yesteryear. Having worked up an appetite browsing the shops and art galleries, come into Flutterbies for lunch. We offer a wide selection of refreshments, from our delicious breakfast and lunch menus, to our famous little Flutterbie Cakes and Devonshire Teas. Our dedicated barista serves wonderful organic coffee, as well as a variety of loose leaf teas. Your favourite milkshakes, iced coffee and fruit smoothies are also a house specialty. With its warm, friendly service and wholesome meals reminiscent of grandma’s baking, you are sure to feel at home. After lunch, browse the Little Shop Next Door for exquisite gifts and homewares, or the Lifestyle Shop at the end of the garden, for all your organic requirements.

Flutterbies Cottage Café offers a delightful service for your special day out. Our guided tours of the area are presented by the fabulous local bush poet, Dennis Scanlon. Dennis joins your group in Murwillumbah and he explains the history of this unique area, while you take in the spectacular views on your journey to Tyalgum.
